Good spot for destination vacation. All you need is right here. And considering the drive, you'll not want to go anywhere else. Yes it's expensive.. a lot of others complained about the cost... it'sisland and a resort for goodness sake. The food is great, service is more than friendly. Everyone wanted to share what they know of their home island. I especially liked that.
My family and I went there for sunset Beach photos and dinner. The staff at the restaurant are amazing! Dinner and drinks were wonderful! And the beach/sunset was absolutely stunning!
The only way I can break this down is into categories. As far as setting goes, it's about as beautiful as you will ever get. Staff is friendly. The price is high, but worth it if you have the dough just for the view. Our biggest complaint was the food options and the overall quality of it for the price. At night you were basically forced to pick the bar or a pricey steakhouse. It seemed a bit odd to us and its why we ate off the property 2 of the 4 nights. We would most likely come back.
The staff is amazing and the food and drink are exceptional. The view is million dollar for sure. Depending on what you are used to, there are parts of the hotel that are dated. The bath tubs and some furniture are dated. So if you are expecting new all around you won't get it and may be disappointed. But I would definitely go back! Beautiful pool and ocean just steps away and minutes from popular local beaches. Location, location, location!
I stayed at the St. Regis for my honeymoon and it met and exceeded expectations. Our ocean view room had an incredible view of the bay and mountains. All of the staff is extremely friendly and accommodating and they have really made our stay excellent. The restaurants on site are also incredible. The ribeye I had at the Kauai Grill was transcendent. The only complaint I have is that our room and the couch cushions do have a musty smell which bothers me but it is still not enough for me to take off a star because everything else is so great. The smell does not bother my wife so your experience may not be affected depending how sensitive you are to smell. Overall, I highly recommend this for a luxurious Kauai experience!
