My wife and I had the final dinner of our honeymoon here and loved it! The drinks were delicious and portions were more than we could finish. If you get there before or during sunset the views are amazing. A bit pricey but well worth it for the wonderfulnfood and excellent service too!
I went to the Kauai Grill just for dessert. The dessert (signature cheesecake) was ok, not amazing. The peach compote didn't really mesh with the chai ice cream. The ambiance and service are what disappointed me most. The restaurant was extremely loud. The server I had was ok (she was focused on a large party), but the hostess left much to be desired, especially compared to the high level of service I've received elsewhere in Kauai.
Tonighr, the food was not at the level it has been in years past. The new chef seems to have a sweet tooth. Lobster with sweet potato was an odd combination. Views and staff are terrific. We will give it another try as we love the St Regis. New owners on the horizon gives hope.
Fantastic food and views. Make a reservation about an hour before sunset to get the best experience. Wonderful ambiance and phenomenal food. We had the 5 course dinner with wine pairing. Lobster was supposed to be half portions- got a LOT of lobster for a half portion. Steak was prepared perfectly and the sauce that it was served with was incredible. Menu is pricey but very much worth it. I look forward to returning soon.
Best waiter ever... we arrived before sunset and didnt have window seating... so he recommend we go to the private deck next to the restaurant and he brought our aperitive there while we enjoyed sunset. The food was amazing - went with the waiters recommendation for the local fish... Delicious. We were too full for desert, but as it was our honeymoon, we got something little on the house. Can't recommend this place enough. And if you want a reason to dress up nicely for a night out, this is the place to go!
